Grass Roots Construction for a 250 acre site -- Pasadena, Texas
Working directly for Magellan Midstream, WT Byler Co performed the following services:
- Site clearing and grubbing
- Excavated and embanked over 2 million cubic yards of earth materials including drainage structures and levees
- In-situ and pulvi-mixed the existing soils to meet specification
- Constructed all the below grade piping systems including firewater
- Constructed structural ring-wall tank foundations and impoundment
- Import and installed limestone base materials for roads and parking
- Asphalt paved the road system
The existing soils in the ship docks were heavily saturated and required daily monitoring, manipulation, and constant management due to changing conditions. The dredged material excavated "in the dry" was separated by type (sand, clay, etc.), then chemically treated and re-blended with reagents as engineered to solidify the material for transport to proposed fill areas then embanked in place to line and grade per the technical specifications.
